The massive glaciers have attracted visitors since the 1930s. The largest settlements of Franz Josef & Fox  have been growing steadily to accommodate and serve the growing visitor numbers.

Tourism, business and marketing students can explore the other man made attractions established to enhance visitors experiences in the Zone.  These involve helicopters, rafting, walking trails, specialist movies, cycle trails, thermal pools and more.
