11 Tue Arrive Fukuoka 10am.
Next 1.5 hr flight south to Fukuoka
Met at airport by friendly a lady who hires a taxi and accompanies
me to the hotel. Room was not available for 4 hours - nice when
needing a shower and sleep. Feels like 9pm
Food. A delightful $7 packet of 8 mini filled bread squares filled the bill and next, on the way to the nearby subway station, I wandered into an enormous 4 story warehouse / supermarket / electrical / clothing / toys outlet. Spent the time there and when had enough, spent another half hour trying to get out! Prices generally seemed about the same for most things as home prices. 100 Yen is about NZD 1.20 after conversion costs.
By 1pm and after getting lost a few more times checking out the subway I eventually found the hotel to sit (ahhhh) and compute till 3pm check-in time. Have tiny room with huge bed. The big TV is unless for English speaking guests. Have heaps of podcasts to listen to and a big bed for sleeeeeeep! Hungry again; purchased at the local
7-11 style shop a ready made meal of chicken, rice and corn. Microwaved it there. It was
lovely and
about $7. |
