Fuji
Travel to
Hakone and ascend 2,400 metres to the 5th Station (weather
permitting) for magnificent views of
Mt Fuji. Also, enjoy a peaceful
cruise on
Lake Ashi before taking to the skies on the
Komagatake Ropeway. Later, continue by road to
Tokyo.
Morning start - lakeside stroll
On to 3700m Mt Fuji.
Amazing 4 - 8 lane highways with lots of bridges and tunnels
including the world's 2nd longest tunnel (18.2km) Walls either
side of the motorways have high walls blocking most of the sights
- Grrrrrr!
Rollercoaster heaven and they didn't even slow down
Exhausted adventure climbers just made it to the
2700m altitude "5th Stage"
"6th stage"
It's hard climbing mountains in Japan. But they all do it - at
least to "stage 5"
The journey continues to crater
Lake Ashi
then boat ride, lunch and ride on the
Komagatake Ropeway to view geothermal field where they lake hot
water for the local hotel.
