THU 4 – Victoria Falls to Hwange
National
Park
Today is a day of travel. Good-bye to Victoria Falls
and the great group after
a restful few days and board head to a Zimbabwe National nature park
and concession area for a 3
night stay in tents.

Good bye!!

Glad that troublesome Kiwi is gone!!

2 Hour trip with van and and
driver to catch the "Elephant Train"

Old (cost saving) sealed road

Road works

Returning from the super market (10 km each way is normal for
locals)

Road closed

The "Elephant Train"

We leave after lunch "take 2 hours ++ -- depending on what we see,
on the way - no rush in Zimbabwe"

3 passengers and 2 (++) drivers

This way in the Main trunk line - no bends, no bridges, no worries
"we can see trains ahead and simply reverse to the last siding.

Waiting for the left overs of lunch then lets go!

"keep that foot on the throttle and stop if an Elephant or something
interesting come into view"

No Elephants! :-(

The kiwi was dropped off to
join the Safari

Our driver Pete calls for the lions - they wake up as the afternoon
ends

Train ee
Preparing tea

Cheers, well trained - will be dark soon another drink? Then back to
the camp
Magnificent meal with some
spotlighting from the dining table beside the campfire

The riot act.
"Don't leave your tent for any
reason during the night.
If needing help activate the emergency air horn and an armed guide
will come and help you.
If someone else activates an emergency horn turn your lights off
Now, an armed guard will escort you to your tent. And ..
An armed guard will collect at 5-30 am to escort you to breakfast in
the morning"

Not entirely happy with the colour of the curtains in this "tent",
maybe a shade darker? .
Stay
Bomani Tented Camp (all included)
