Water and Waste Systems

New Zealand is blessed with clean good tasting water. However, with agriculture, industries and growing population the water quality can deteriorate.

Communities are continually upgrading these to ensure health standards are maintained.  We can view different systems for disposing of settlements' wastes (both dry and water based) these vary according to population and location of the settlements.

Water supplies used include:- lakes, rivers, aquifers, and rain tanks. Dry waste is now being recycled and wet waists being composted by larger communities.

Studies
By exploring different towns we learn of the various systems appropriate for them. We see how each system works with basic chemistry and science factors involved.  Groups with more time and interest can visit more facilities and meet with authorities involved. Different communities use different systems.
