Objectives
To recognise the the visual signs of tectonic movements and to understand their causes and effects.

Situation
The Intercontinental fault line slices through both trails of this Zone  We cross the junction of the Indo-Australia and Pacific Plates where they are compressing and sliding at a very fast rate.  We learn to recognise the geomorphology with displacement of the rivers, misaligned valleys and uplifting mountains. 

Studies
We stop at the main fault line,  Our KANES guide explains the causes and affects now and the future of this continual ("fast") movement as it relates to the location of the mountains and rivers at this point.  We also see how the earthquakes have damaged towns and roads and how communities protect themselves.
