Weather

On one side of the Alps we experience  just 500mm annual precipitation. Within a short distance rain (and snow) is up to 14 times greater.

We encounter dramatic changes in land and nature involving both deserts and rainforests.

Studies
We witness the effects and explore the
causes of moisture laden Roaring Forties that violently interact with the towering Southern Alps. An education centre assists us with maps, a land model and photos. We explore how the weather differences affect vegetation, settlements, farming, landform and transport.
