Reefton Settlement

Among the rainforest and mountains we discover this settlement isolated community standing on the edge of once gold bearing quartz reefs. Reefton provided essential services to the nearby mines, and was first to introduce electricity to the region in the 1920s. The settlement survived after gold as a service town for the for the productive river flat farms.
