As we enter the zone from the mountain passes and see the land change to dry desert land and learn of its reputation for searing summers and bitter winters.

We observe the surrounding mountain barrier and learn how the winds deposit their moisture before they sweep across the land dehydrating it.  We learn about latent heat of vaporisation and heat creation. We  experience the results with invigorating desert microclimates volumes of crystal clear water. We see how residents and industries adapt to the dry conditions.
