Transportation in the zone

By looking at the land around the city of Dunedin we observe problems for land transport due to the steep hills that surround the city.

We learn how the early city planners and leaders overcome these difficulties.  We follow transport systems beginning with the Maori people through to modern times and taking a look all the main issues involving competition, needs and costs of each of the plans.

Study groups follow the process of choosing of a suitable harbour location, its  developed and maintenance.

Ships, railways and roads are vital.  We can study these including their building and uses.
