Lake Tekapo is a stunning remote jewel among the high tundra lands.

This is the highest of the all New Zealand's major lakes. It contributes to the large Waitaki River HEP and irrigation schemes. 

We visit the famous stone Church of the Good Shepherd with its famous altar and the bronze statue acknowledging the faithful sheep dogs essential for farming in the area.

Visitors enjoy fishing, water skiing, ice skating, hot pools and snow skiing.

The shore side tourist town offers all the facilities needed for travelers and visitors.
