After passing through interesting mountain barriers we encounter New Zealand's largest horticultural region. 

The climate, soils and weather all come together to make this an idyllic place for citrus, stone fruit, pip fruit, grapes and kiwi fruit plus many others areas of vegetable growing land and diary farming.

Studies:
Depending on time available, we learn about the attributes of the items of interest. We stop at information centres, fruit stalls, local industries and communities to immerse ourselves in the culture.
