23 Mon  (Day 5) Sights of Jaipur

After breakfast at the hotel we have 2 days of sightseeing in the city of Jaipur. Over the 2 days we visit Amer Fort, also known as Amber Fort, founded by ruler Alan Singh of Chanda Dynasty.

Hawaii Mahal, a palace in Jaipur built from red and pink sandstone, it is the tallest building in the world without a foundation.   It’s unique design using curves and pyramids has helped it stay erect for centuries.  The building was opened in 1799.    We also visit the City Palace where the Maharaja reigned from and was built between 1729 – 1732.   During our time in Jaipur, we have time for shopping and day 6 ends with dinner and music included.

Days begin with a morning walk then a very foreign selection from a buffet breakfast.
Today the brand new bus beeped and hooted through the traffic chaos passed a pretty lake with crowds of stalls and on into the narrow traffic jammed street where we were herded into the back of jeeps for a stop-for-long-times-then-move-a-little ride up the "huge mountain road" to the "palace then a crowded moving mass of colourful humanity surged from room to room of the old palace.  Five min later "all out" we are there .  The local guide stopped at every commentary location to say his incomprehensible stuff then on with the crowded surge to the next stop for another utterance. Our own guides hovered and shouted safety warnings, "hurry up",  "slow down", "wait here", "mid the step", "go now " etc with shouts and waves.    "baaaaa"
