26 Wed  Mount Fuji
Travel to Hakone and ascend 2,400 metres to the 5th Station (weather permitting) for magnificent views of Mt Fuji. Also, enjoy a peaceful cruise on Lake Ashi before taking to the skies on the Komagatake Ropeway. Later, continue by road to Tokyo.

Morning start - lakeside stroll

On to 3700m Mt Fuji.
Amazing 4 - 8 lane highways with lots of bridges and tunnels including the world's 2nd longest tunnel (18.2km)  Walls either side of the motorways have high walls blocking most of the sights  - Grrrrrr!

Rollercoaster heaven and they didn't even slow down

Exhausted adventure climbers just made it to the 2700m altitude  "5th Stage"

"6th stage"

It's hard climbing mountains in Japan. But they all do it -  at least to "stage 5"

The journey continues to crater Lake Ashi then boat ride, lunch and ride on the Komagatake Ropeway to view geothermal field where they lake hot water for the local hotel.

Runch

Our residence in Tokyo  :-)
