Hit the main road early after o/n at a high point looking back over the direction of Kakadu.  Warm, still and quiet with a great outlook it was sad to leave. Fuelled up at Pine Creek and Mataranka then a couple of hours later the day is over and another quiet, warm secluded stop near the road.


Pine creek wildlife squabbles and screams that sound like starlings settling. 

Missed lots of old mining relics last visit to Pine Creek they have done a great job displaying them in a large public area

Katherine's old river crossing

Tall dry grasses everywhere not burned off

Bellow Cutta Cutta Caves guided tour - quite good for the $25 fee
