FRI 12 – Namib Naukluft Desert Park This was a WOW of a day starting with an early 6am breakfast and 21 km of gravel. Re fuelled at Sesriem at the park entrance, then drove 61km of sealed road ending with 5km on a shuttle to Sossusvlei. The Joy was definitely in the journey. They say this is one of the world's oldest deserts and has the highest dunes. Temp began at a nice 18 deg (and rose to 36 deg by early afternoon where the additional feature, Sesriem Canyon ended the adventure and back for an eagerly anticipated cool beer, plate of soup shower and a rest.
Ok, if all these bus loads of Europeans can this Kiwi had better before the heat strikes and to get the pics!!
Took a couple of goes but made it to the Sesriem Canyon
