Salmon Farms

These special cold water fish came from the wild rivers of North America and Canada and are just at home in the same in New Zealand.

There are a number of salmon farms around New Zealand.  They require special conditions for hygiene and feeding. We find them in power scheme canals and in especially made, remote, fresh water ponds.  Some farms are located in the ocean.

Studies
Interested groups visit at least 2 farms studying at life and  farming cycles, management, engineering and marketing systems.
