We explore 3 different communities the with attention to economics, services, weather, industries attractions and facilities that affect their growth and success for contentment of their residents.

All of these communities share the benefits the port and successful farming areas.  They were all severely damaged by the Earthquake Feb 2011 and all have a difficult road to recover.  Despite these we find big differences in the wellbeing of its settlers and we look into the social and geographic reasons for these so we can learn to understand and recognise these in other communities we will encounter.
