Important Note:    
Christchurch is a tiny dot on the New Zealand map the earthquakes have damaged only one third of that dot. Sadly, it happened under NZ's 2nd biggest city.

New Zealand has always been safe for visitors - Only the CBD and the Eastern Suburbs of Christchurch  sustained the main damage. The rest of Christchurch and is perfectly safe has continued to operate normally.
