New Zealand Learning Adventures

Glacier Encounter
We follow a huge, newly-carved, glacier valley to observe the end of a 13 km, world renown giant glacier that has plummeted 3000m at break-neck speeds (for glaciers) into a unique lowland rainforest.

Guided glacier walk

Spectacular towering cliffs guard the glacier's freezing outflow river. Huge rocks tumble from the towering valley walls shaken loss by extreme tectonic pressures.

Our path is safe and well formed as as we approach the destination we can feel the enormity of these immense incredible ice rivers.

On the way we cross between two of the worlds largest tectonic plates observing the inside of active faults that divide them.

Studies
We investigate geological remnants to assemble the past story of this magnificent natural spectacle with its advances and recessions.
