In this Zone we find New Zealand's most popular tourist towns AND some of the oldest. They all stemmed from the days of gold. Some are ghost towns.
Queenstown	Queenstown Queenstown is located on the shores of one of NZ's largest glacier lakes. It is the centre of action, food outlets and great scenery. It is one of New Zealand's most popular tourist destinations.
Arrowtown	Arrowtown This beautiful historic town began with the 1860's gold rush on the shores of the rich gold bearing Arrow River. Today many of its old heritage remains and it's great for shopping, walks and museum
	Wanaka This peaceful town is situated on the shores of a huge natural glacier lake and the Southern Alps. From here we access the exciting mountain skiing and deep river canoeing. This thriving holiday town has all the amenities and attractions to cater for every visitor. Link

Alexandra	Alexandra This is a thriving desert settlement lies on the confluence of the Clutha and one of its tributaries. Alexandra is the hub for sheep farming luscious stone fruit growing all thriving in a stunning dry desert land. Link
