Apart from the fishing fleets around the zone the Otago University operates dedicated marine study facility. 

A guided tour of the facility enables us to learn about the local the marine animals. 

Studies
At the Marine education centre we observe current projects and processes involved. We see in large glass tanks fish species being harvested, their predators, food sources and the environment they come from. During the visit we develop practical knowledge relating to engineering, chemistry, team management, education necessary to make the facility work.
