At Sydney had to walk miles from the gate to go through security while in transit?? Then miles back to the boarding gate. 
Arrived Dubai, Taxi to Crown Plaza,  at 7am (local time). Pretty shattered, despite 19 hours of TV, rest and sleep on the flight.  Of course no room till later. Temp 35 deg.  Familled the pool and gym, then some lap top work to update the itinerary, a walk down the road to the metro, some shopping to replace a broken trou belt, checked out how the locals get around with the Metro, lunch and shower ☺

PM  Metro, tram then monorail to Palm Island to see the wealthy.
