Fri 15   - Ninh Binh to Vinh

Longest day 4- 5hrs travelling (170km) seeing Ho Chi Ninh's birth place along the way - began to understand the forces that drove him to rebel against the forces in charge of the country that beginning with a feudal system under a not very considerate king leaving desperate poverty for the majority of the population - then the occupation by the French from the early 1900s without change.    Setting aside the justification of the "means" the "end" is now showing the people are owning their possessions, have an incentive to work with a free enterprise system and they are growing their living standard at a remarkable pace.   (GNP averaging 6%).

Temp hit 40°C & humid have to hide at every op.  Max speed on the 4.5 lane highway 60kph - everybody in the "fast" lane driving slow texting, smoking taking no notice if the other traffic tooting and flashing them.  saw a scooter and a trike coming towards us - the wrong way - in the fast lane of the main highway (no.1)  omg!
