Had 3 mountain passes as
we travelled south. Visited local culture museum then " Marble
Mountain" with its shrines and great views in the
limestone caves - lots of steps and very hot - but great views.
The hotel is the only one sited on a narrow rough dirt track it is
on the banks of a local river - staff very obliging and the
facilities different from the high-rise city centre buildings, after
a rest the car took us to the historic World Heritage Town centre
that was a major port town in the 1400's until the river silted up
an the port moved away.
