Hydro Electric Power

Beginning at the glaciers we witness the sources of these freezing rivers at glacier snouts and their lakes. 

These special rivers are filled with rock-four made by the slowly flowing ice and rocks and deposit thousands of tonnes of suspensions yearly into the nearby lakes.

We see the fascinating ways glaciers turn into rivers that carry mountain material that builds new land forms as nature strives to flatten the landscapes We  witness different stages of deposition from fans to plains.

With the massive erosion processes here you quickly appreciate the drastic difficulties that are being faced in mountain areas worldwide.   Extensive and continuing earthworks are needed to protect the park's assets from destruction. On the highway we learn to understand the importance of location choices.
