Our trail in this zone is remote and follows the only land based junction of the giant Indo-Australian and Pacific tectonic plates. We explore spectacular glaciers, unique untouched forests, mirror lakes and the towering snow covered Southern Alps that dominate the area. | |
Adventure Activities
Access the giant glaciers, fly in a helicopter to a glacier nevé, photograph reflection lakes, explore amazing glow worms in the night forest , encounter walks involving swamps, beaches, coasts and water falls, take a guided walk onto a glacier. more> |

Learning
We learn to understand the processes of the speeding glaciers and how they scour the enormous valleys in the uplifting mountains. Rejuvenated by 70 metres of snow annually, these amazing ice flows plummet 13km form the alps to dense untouched rainforests. more> |
