Day 2 
Christchurch - Hanmer (2 hrs)
Explore earthquake damage English style city, parks,  Victorian architecture, shops, beaches and the volcano that originally attracted the city's first settlers.  Later we make our way north west towards the mountains and the resort town of Hanmer Springs.

Hanmer Springs - Westport (4hrs) 
 (Alpine Trails Zone) Today we pass through the South Island's  towering, ever moving, Southern Alps encountering massive land movements, a high alpine pass and ancient mountain rain forests.  Expect dramatic scenery and weather changes.

Fox Glacier - Queenstown

(Glacier & Scenic Zone) This morning we begin this part of the world's most spectacular tourist route surrounded by untouched Podocarp giants rising high above ancient rain forests. This is the World's wettest land. Towering mountains dominate the glaciers, water falls, lakes and swamps.    By late afternoon after passing through the Southern Alps we incredibly encounter parched desert lands. Day 9  
Mt Cook - Timaru
